ONe-to-one sessions

Sessions are available via Zoom, MS Teams, or phone.

Sessions are curated to your needs and goals.

We will move at the pace that is best for you and your internal system. Everyone is unique and to honour that uniqueness there is no template that can be given which will say what will happen.

For your curious parts

Too often counselling and helping professions ask clients to just trust them because they are the professional. I think this shames us from being curious.

All of your questions are welcome. Ask them more than once if needed.

  • Sessions are 60 minutes.

  • 60 minutes sessions are $120.

  • Each session will vary depending on what you want to focus on, or if we’ve had previous sessions they may follow on from that.

As I use a variety of approaches what we may do in a session can vary.

  • Unfortunately not yet - but when I find a physical space that I like I will start doing face-to-face sessions.

  • This is up to you.

I may give some suggestions of some grounding and mindfulness skills to practice. If we do some Internal Family Systems work it may be that you check in with some parts of between sessions.

Nothing is compulsory and therefore you are not missing out on anything by not doing anything in between sessions.

  • Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) is a psychotherapeutic approach that views an individual's personality as a system of different "parts" or subpersonalities, each with its own unique thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

IFS therapy is based on the premise that these parts, or subpersonalities, develop as a way to cope with past traumas, stress, or other life experiences. However, sometimes these parts can become overly dominant, causing negative symptoms such as anxiety, depression, or self-sabotaging behaviors.

The goal of IFS therapy is to help individuals understand and heal their parts, so they can live a more fulfilling and integrated life. The therapist works with the client to identify and separate the different parts, and to bring a sense of compassion and self-leadership to the internal system.

IFS therapy focuses on the concept of "self-leadership," where the client learns to identify and access the core of their being, known as the "True Self." This True Self is seen as a source of inner wisdom, compassion, and resilience, and is viewed as the key to healing the internal system.

IFS therapy is often used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. The approach is highly effective because it recognizes the complex nature of human experience, and helps clients to understand and heal their inner systems, leading to improved well-being and increased self-awareness.

  • No I do not. Not as is described and defined in the DSM. IFS is both a theory of mind (that we are naturally multiple) and also a method and approach to achieving internal system wellbeing and integration.

In IFS, integration doesn’t mean returning to a ‘single’ but rather refers to all the Parts working together harmoniously.
